Employment and Volunteer Age Policy

The Boys & Girls Club of LeFlore County is committed to maintaining a safe and responsible environment for all youth served. As part of this commitment, the Club has established the following age requirements for employment and volunteer service:

• The Boys & Girls Club of LeFlore County does not hire individuals under the age of 18 for any paid position at the LeFlore County Club site.

• The Boys & Girls Club of LeFlore County does not utilize minor volunteers at the LeFlore County Club site.

• All staff members and volunteers at the LeFlore County site must be 18 years of age or older and must meet all applicable screening, background check, and training requirements prior to engagement.

Soccer Club Exception

The Boys & Girls Club of LeFlore County Youth Soccer Club may utilize referees under the age of 18 under the following conditions:

• Soccer activities take place on city-owned property.

• Youth referees do not engage in one-on-one contact with Club members.

• Referees serve in a limited, observational, and officiating role only and are not responsible for supervision, instruction, transportation, or discipline of Club members.

• Adult staff or designated supervisors are present at all times during soccer activities.

This exception is narrowly defined and does not alter the Club’s broader commitment to child safety or its prohibition on hiring or utilizing minor staff or volunteers at the LeFlore County Club site.

This policy applies to all Boys & Girls Club of LeFlore County programs and operations unless otherwise specifically stated.
